Moutsouana on Naxos's south shore used to be a port for emery mines. The mines have long closed however and today Motsouna is probably Naxos' most unspoiled areas. Even today many tourists don't head to this part of the island. As a souvenir from those times the cable car which ones transported emery stones to the port can still be seen.
The tour starts from the beach right next to the port of Moutsouna and very soon, you will paddle next to the old cranes on the dock. You will paddle around Moutsouna’s green peninsula with it's impressive wild nature and geological features up to the beach of Azala.
Along the way, there will be many breaks at small beaches ideal for swimming, snorkeling and cliff jumping away from the crowds. You will enjoy the personalized attention of the guide on a small-group tour. The excursion takes place at a relaxed pace and you will explore small and big sea caves. If you are lucky you might also spot monk seals or sea turtles.
The duration of the excursion is approximately five hours, two and a half hours of total paddling and another two and a half hours on the beaches, swimming, snorkeling and having snacks and coffee. Later in the evening, full of nice pictures we return to our starting point for a last swim!
